Emilee Hembrow on caring for her hair extensions with Hadrill

Emilee Hembrow has worn hair extensions for over ten years. With naturally fine hair, she loves the extra volume and the freedom to play with length. Caring for both her own hair and her extensions is part of keeping that look feeling good between salon visits.
The Hadrill Hair ambassador shares her experience of the range, the order she uses the products in, and why a hair mask has become part of her evenings at home.

More than ten years with extensions
Emilee knows the investment that goes into hair extensions. In her interview, she explains that looking after them matters because she wants to keep wearing them for as long as possible.
“You want to have your investment last a long time.”
She also describes the uncertainty around choosing products for extensions. What she appreciates about Hadrill is having a range for both her natural hair and her extension lengths, without having to look for separate products for each.

What she noticed with Hadrill
Emilee describes her own hair as fine and oily, and says she was used to washing it frequently. Since using Hadrill Hair Care, she reports washing less often and enjoying a silky finish. These are her observations about her own hair and routine.
Her written testimonial describes how both her natural hair and her extensions feel:
“Since using the range, my extensions feel incredibly soft, silky and hydrated, and my natural hair feels amazing too.”
The fragrance is another detail she mentions in both her interview and Instagram Stories. A self-described perfume lover, she describes the scent as luxurious but soft. She also enjoys the packaging—something she says she pays attention to when choosing products.
Her wash-day order: shampoo, mask, conditioner
In her Instagram Story, Emilee explains the order she follows with the range: she shampoos twice, applies the mask, then finishes with conditioner. She specifically points out that the mask comes before the conditioner.
- The Shampoo, twice. Emilee starts with a double shampoo. The Shampoo cleanses the scalp and hair, lifting away oil and product build-up. Its formula is sulphate-free and protein-free.
- The Treatment Mask, next. Her treatment step sits between cleansing and conditioning. The Treatment Mask is a richer conditioning treatment for lengths that need extra care.
- The Conditioner, last. She finishes with The Conditioner, which helps soften and detangle the mid-lengths and ends.
This is the order Emilee describes on a treatment wash day. Follow each product’s directions and your stylist’s advice for your extension method, including keeping conditioning products away from attachment points. Our guide to shampoo, mask and conditioner order explains where each step fits.
In a second Story, she shows her finished hair and points out that she styled it herself. She says doing her own hair is not something she usually feels confident about, making the result particularly pleasing to her.
A little time for herself
With children at home, Emilee describes her evenings as busy. Once they are in bed, she enjoys taking a bath, using a hair mask, lighting a candle and sometimes having a green tea.
She says she likes to dedicate two nights a week to having a moment for herself.
For Emilee, looking after her hair also connects to how she feels when she heads out:
“When my hair looks good, I immediately feel so much more confident. I just feel good to go.”
