Erin Holland on fifteen years of hair extensions, and why she now washes them with Hadrill
Erin Holland has worn hair extensions for fifteen years, through pageants, live television and more flights than she can count. This month she became the first Hadrill Hair ambassador. Erin is paid for the partnership, and we want to be plain about that. We also want to be plain about why it made sense: she had already been using the range before we spoke about working together.
Who Erin is
Erin grew up in Cairns and trained as a classical singer at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music before winning Miss World Australia in 2013. Since then she has built a career in front of the camera, presenting cricket for the Pakistan Super League and Indian Premier League broadcasts and hosting live events across Australia and overseas. Her hair is styled professionally several times a week and travels through every climate on the calendar. If a hair routine can survive that, it can survive anything.
Fifteen years in extensions
"I've actually been wearing hair extensions for over fifteen years of my life. You would never have known me without them. And I realised through experience that what I use on them actually makes or breaks them, more than anything else."
That sentence is the whole reason Hadrill exists. Extension hair has no oil supply of its own. Protein and keratin build up on it wash after wash, sulphates strip what moisture it has, and the hair that looked wonderful on day one turns dry and catches on itself by week six. Most people blame the extensions. It is almost always the shampoo.

Erin has worn keratin bonds for most of those fifteen years, and now has them fitted at Emilly Hadrill Hair Extensions in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. Keratin bonds are the most demanding method to care for: anything oily or heavy near the bond softens it, and protein build-up on the lengths shows faster than on any other method. Erin came to the range the way most of our customers do, on a recommendation, and used it for several weeks before any conversation about an ambassadorship. What she noticed first was the ends.
"The ends were the giveaway for me. Extension hair usually starts to feel rough at the ends first, and after two weeks on the ritual they were moving again. My stylist commented on it before I said anything."

Why the partnership
Hadrill was founded in 2025 by Emilly Hadrill, who has spent seventeen years fitting extensions across four specialist salons. The formulas came out of watching clients' hair fail on products that were never designed for it.

Erin's routine
The order matters as much as the products. This is the ritual Erin follows, and the one we recommend to every extension wearer.
- 1. The Shampoo, at the scalp. Two to three times a week. Massage between the bonds with fingertips and let the lather rinse through the lengths rather than scrubbing them. Sulphate-free and protein-free, so nothing is stripped and nothing builds up.
- 2. The Treatment Mask, mid-lengths to ends. Once or twice a week, starting a few centimetres below the bonds, five to ten minutes. Eight plant oils, shea, aloe, biotin and propolis put back what extension hair cannot make for itself.
- 3. The Conditioner, last. Every wash. It seals the cuticle over the mask and rinses cool. Skip it and the moisture lifts straight back out.
